I consider my combination of strong logical skills, uninhibited creative thinking and solid presentation skills to be my main strength. These qualities have been allowing me to contribute productively as an advisor and in brainstorming and collaborative formats, to a range of projects and organizations.
At the same time, I've always been very reluctant to work with certain tasks, such as filling application forms or following bureaucratic procedures, or to take typical, regular-schedule office jobs.
Through the years I've grown to believe it's best - both for myself and the projects I'm involved in - to delegate whatever I'm weak at and concentrate on the formats and areas of enthusiasm.
I've been concentrating on Python in recent years, using it in a range of domains. Django, Pandas and Selenium are some of the Python libraries I've used extensively.
My programming experience for the past 10 years also included front-end web development languages, technologies and frameworks (JavaScript, JQuery, SQL, HTML, CSS, SASS, Foundation) and R for statistics. Prior to that I had reasonable experience with PHP, Pascal and C++, and some exeperience with others.
My strengths in terms of quantitative skills include experience with advanced programming algorithms and a range of statistical methods (particularly, descriptive statistics, data visualization, permutation methods).
I am a native speaker in Georgian and Russian.
My experience with English, apart from daily intake of information,
includes completing two English-language master's programs and translating
articles for a magazine.
Having learned German at school, I still can read and converse in
the language, at a basic level. I also have some elementary knowledge of
French and Ukrainian, having attempted learning these at various times.
I have considerable experience writing opinion pieces
and editing articles, mostly in Georgian.
I also have solid public speaking experience, ranging from giving
presentations at high school scientific tournaments, to co-hosting a radio program,
hosting some podcasts and participating in live debates.
My further relevant experience includes teaching programming and statistics
and giving some lectures on political-philosophical issues.
I have a reasonable knowledge of various aspects of design theory, such as the gestalt principles, as well as the technical and theoretical aspects of photography, such as lighting and composition.
In terms of practical experience, through the years of occasional web-development, I've created over a dozen of website designs. I've also accrued photographing experience in several genres, albeit mostly with simple lighting setups or ambient light. I've mostly been using a DSLR camera, with prior usage of film cameras.
I've been playing a team intellectual game Ra? Sad? Rodis? - which combines logical thinking with general knowldege - for years, with considerable success, both as a team captain and a player. My teams have won numerous competitions and have generally ranked among the top teams in Georgia.
The game has been my only regular hobby outside of the creative and professional
interests, and has influenced my brainstorming and team-working skills,
contributed to my continuous education, and enriched my
personal and professional networks.
I've also had some moderate success playing a local version of Jeopardy.
For programming I've largely switched to Visual Studio Code. For web/API development and data projects I also regularly use PostMan, BitBucket, FileZilla and command-line interfaces.
For day-to-day tasks, data and writing I regularly use Google Drive products. I also have experience using LibreOffice and Microsoft Office products, as well as Trello and a number of other services and software.
Through the years of occasional web design as well as some graphic design and photo editing I've gained a reasonable experience working with Adobe Photoshop, GIMP and DarkTable, as well as some experience with a number of other graphic, video and audio editing software.
